Who says he is supposed to be a role model? That is the problem people want to blame everything wrong on somebody else. Tupac was not those kids parent, or guardian. The man just made his music and poetry, and got big. People kill me blaming the ills in society on everyone else but themselves. Are you bitching about Edgar Allan Poe too, I think not. So was the made not to make money off of people using his stuff. You want him to work for free.

You think I've never heard Tupac? He may have been a good musician, but he certainly wasn't a hero or role model. Great damage came out of his music, despite the potential he had to do good because of his following. Axel Rose was a good musician, but a bad man. However, his case isn't has bad because his music didn't inspire such great acts of violence and broken lives, and he didn't have the following to make change like Shakur did.

He regularly appeared in public and in rap videos flashing gang signs, wearing gang paraphanelia, and rapping about thug life. He glorified violence. And to the millions of family of whome he became their hero, and to to the communities in which those fans lived, he became one the greatest menaces on earth. Lots of people tell their stories, admit it is wrong, and walk the walk by stopping and doing something about it. Shakur made money off it, and exacerbated the damage in his community.

Institutional racism like the racist affirmative action laws instituted by our government? It's racist if it's racist. Don't spout that Cress bullshit of, "The definition of racism is white supremacy." It's not racsim when you say a community has to hold itself accountable. We can never make right what happened in the past, but we can empower people to take care of their existences today. Stealing, employing guilt to excuse bad behavior, and keeping people dependent is not the way to do it.

@Punohuspicks. LOL! No, I am not an "Oathkeeper" whatever that is. I do uphold the constitution in its ORIGINAL FORM, but not for jim crow laws, not against civil rights, and encourage women to cast an intelligent vote(not based on looks,or skin color- but you will probably call me a racist for that!). I am non-partisan, not a fan of Rush Limbaugh, just tired of the hypocrisy of those on my side... always labelling someone who disagrees with us. We want freedom of expression, others should too.

First of all this guy didn't tell people go kill, he had no power over stopping all the violence. He simply put his life pain in his works. Yet, to you unless its some happy love love bullshit, then it is automatically wrong. He grew up in the hood, where the things he wrote about actually happened. So damn him for telling his story and expressing his words, without checking with idiots like you first to make sure it does not hurt your feelings. And when did I shout racism? Never, so how about

Dgonz, read a history book. I don't know what to say to you if you are totally ignorant of the ingrained, institutional racism in American society. But your comments, especially the whining about "welfare" shows it. Do you know who and what welfare was even created for? It sure wasn't black people. Again, don't whitewash history. It is what it is. But these problems can be addressed and mitigated. Denying they exist doesn't make it so.
