@Shadowlit001 I didn't state if the dad was right or wrong. I just wrote a story and asked a question. Okay though, you're right, it's not my place to decide which one gets a hundred dollars. Doesn't mean I can't form an opinion though. Who do you think is more deserving of a hundred? Toby or his brother?

@Robbie12992 "Deserves" is a subjective concept. The father is the one who decide what the kids get not you. When you have kids you can reward them how you want instead of insisting that your values be forced onto others.

@26juanvicente Those who cannot learn from history are doomed to repeat it. The Constitution, and Magna Carta hailed the entry of republic/democratic governments throughout the world A.K.A More Liberty and Rights. But then again it sounds like you would prefer Divinely appointed monarchies, oligarchies, Despots, etc... Don't get me wrong our system has problems and all governments have their ups and downs, but i'd rather my Constitution than no Constitution. (Find something better? do Tell)

Toby's father gave Toby 100 bucks for passing high school, with all As. Toby's a smart kid, so it isn't a big deal. Toby's dad gave Toby's brother 100 bucks for passing high school, with all Ds. His brother flunked the previous two years, so Toby's dad was happy about him finally passing. Who deserves 100 bucks? According to Toby's dad, they both gave it their all, so they should both get a hundred. Guess what. Toby's dad is a Left-Wing Democrat.
