Rush Limbaugh appeared on The Today show on Monday, October 12. He was asked about everything including:* Is Rush the leader of the Republican Party? Rush said: RUSH: I am not the leader of the Republican Party. I don't want to be the leader of the Republican Party. These people think that they can discredit the Republican Party by making me the head of it. All they're doing is elevating me. It's silly for them to keep talking about how I'm the leader of anything. It's just creating more curiosity about me. It's twenty-one years, more popular than ever. Lord, thank you for my enemies."* "I want him to fail" - saying he wants Barack Obama to fail, along with his explanation of what that means. Rush said:"Trust me, Jamie. Every one of these "critics" knew and knows exactly what I meant. They are taking this as yet another opportunity to say, Whoa! Limbaugh wants America to fail!" and that's such BS. I want this country to succeed, and it won't happen if he succeeds with his agenda. So perhaps a more politically correct way to say this: "I want health care under Obama to fail. I don't want Obama owning automobile companies. I don't want him running Wall Street and setting compensation levels."* Is Rush controversial?"The idea that we've had a very historic thing was wonderful when it happened, absolutely. But I'll be honest with you. I predicted to you it was going to exacerbate racial problems, and it has. Any criticism of President Obama is going to be said to be oriented in racism. And if you don't like his health care bill, it's racist. I opposed when Clinton and Hillary were trying to do it, and they aren't black. It's all about ideas. I think these are dark days for the country. I think his economic policies are... I think he is shepherding the decline; he's not observing it."Rush also discusses John McCain, and how he was the dream candidate for moderate Republicans that want ot reach across the aisle.*

@jplava: A man who knows his mind, loves his country, and is higher in intelligence/common sense than the average joe does not an arrogant asshole make. At least Rush makes your blood boil - that's the most delicious thing about him! ;)

@jdb3122: Have you ever listened to Rush? Really listened without bias? He makes more common sense than anyone out there. But that's the wonder & beauty of this glorious nation: if millions of people didn't want to listen to him, then they could turn off their radios/Ipods...their choice. But why don't they after 20+ years???

@tim5208686 letting a radio man mislead millions of people worsens a broken nation

Criticizing a radio man does not feed a single hungry child, it does not educate a single child, it does nothing to bring health care to a sick child.Criticizing a radio man does not bring a job to a single mother trying to desperately to feed her child. Criticizing a radio man does nothing to end war.

I agree with you. Although I am a lifetime Democrat (and graduated with a degree in government from the Univ of Texas at Austin), I realize that the entire political arena is more entertainment than it is anything else.If you actually pay attention to his dialogues and diatribes, he often times just quotes liberals' inflammatory statements which then get misconstrued later on as his own statements. Beyond that, he's just stirring sh*t up to get ratings. Ppl are too high-strung and buy into it.
