If the U.S. had developed Nuclear power at the same rate France has, we would today put 2,200,000,000 tons less carbon into the atmosphere--beating kyoto requirements by 15%. See AmericanSolutions.com for more.

Three Mile Island melt down = mismanagementChernobyl melt down/boom = "economic melt down = "

GINGRICH KNOWS NOTHING - ACADEMICDeregulation of financial markets, has bankrupted this country. McCains primary financial advisor Phil Gramm was the primary sponsor of the GLB - ACT - which REMOVED THE SEPARATION BETWEEN BANKS & I-BANKS. In 2004 SEC, allowed investment banks to leverage up to 40/1. Partially responsible for the current financial meltdown.McCain, Gramm, Bush and others pushed for deregulation.Democrats demanded lower underwriting standards for Fannie/Freddie

You're right, there is far more we don't know. And there's much more that you don't know. You should considering researching nuclear energy, that way you might know a little bit about it, before you open your mouth.
BeondaPale (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
I hope however, that you can be just as skeptical about your own argument. If you are right and it is the sun, there's not a damned thing we can do about it. But if I am right and CO2 IS the cause and we fail to do anything, we're all fools for causing our own demise.

This is a job for satellites. The World Radiation Center says there has been no increase in solar irradiance since at least 1978, when satellite observations began. This means that for the last thirty years, while the temperature has been rising fastest, the sun has not changed. But I know that's not enough evidence to exclude the sun The web site RealClimate has discussions on what we can conclude about solar forcing and how science reached those conclusions.I'm all for skepticism.
BeondaPale (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
I'm perfectly willing to accept that warming might be coming from the sun. after all it is the sun that ultimately warms us anywayNow, the best way to detect changes in the output of the sun -- versus changes in the radiation reaching the earth's surface through clouds, smoke, dust, or pollution -- is by taking readings from space.

Because Al Gore says we have to act 'now'. Carbon emissions are not to blame. It has everything to do with that darn floating ball of fire in the sky (aka "the Sun"). Be careful who you call ignorant. At last check it's the left that won't debate the validity of the CO2 argument. Educate YOURself. For one, see "SOLAR ACTIVITY: A DOMINANT FACTOR IN CLIMATE DYNAMICS," By Dr Theodor Landscheidt, Schroeter Institute for Research in Cycles of Solar Activity, Nova Scotia, Canada. Good day.
heykoolaid2004 (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
Why? Because Big Al Gore says that we need to do something "now", lest all the unicorns and puppy dogs die of sunburn. That and it's practical.Climate change is real, but it has little or nothing to do with CO2 and everything to do with Solar activity. compare rates of climate change on earth with that of other planets in our solar system and you will see a direct correlation.
BeondaPale (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
Why would you choose to create power from something that is (even so POTENTIALLY) dangerous, when something that can create power without ANY dangerous potential or long term effects sits unused?
BeondaPale (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
Wow, you're ignorant.
