So you want those same policies. If you look at Reagan, everything is different from what you said about Bush. I agree with you on everything you just said though, but I think we cant follow the same policies that led ppl to hate Bush, Reagan's policies were similar (in the pro-freedom rhetoric) but Reagan didnt want to make the world safe for democracy (like Bush and the father of american liberalism Woodrow Wilson). Reagan was loved for his foreign policy, lets follow him.

George W. Bush defended this country by enacting policies such as the USAPatriot Act and the department of homeland security (though the DHS could use reform.) His Iraq policy was a policy that rid the world of an evil man and now allow innocent Iraqis to live in freedom, though again it was mishandled. Did Bush make mistakes? Yes, the DHS has mishandled certain situations and more troops should have been in Iraq post-Saddam. Bush should have fired Rumsfeld earlier than he did too.

Those arent really policies but ok. Reagan wanted to end all war, he went into Lebanon and left immediately when too many marines were killed. Both had completely different ideas when it comes to diplomacy. Bush did not believe in "peace through strength". Bush believed in "war through strength" and every modern president has sent troops overseas so that means nothing. Reagan was far different from Bush on everything but military spending (although Reagan increased it more)

And what is a lie is that Rand Paul is more supportive of the war on terror than Jack Conway. Rand wants to repeal the USAPatriot Act and bring every soldier home from the middle-east in the middle of a war. Calling me a RINO does not erase the truth: Rand Paul is soft on terrorism and crime, Jack Conway is not great but better.

Regan and Bush both re-built the American military. Both believed in "peace through strength." Both stayed active in world affairs and both sent troops overseas.
Willredd94 (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
Yeah, cmon man. I know your purposely lying here. Reagan and Bush foreign policies the same? Your kidding me. I've studied extensively the foreign policies of modern US presidents. Reagan negotiated, spoke to, and befriended Gorbachev. Reagan signed the largest non-proliferation treaty in history. Reagan sent troops into Lebanon and pulled them out immediately when too many were killed. Reagan sent weapons and supplies to Saddam and Osama bin Laden. What plant do you live on?
MrConservativeTalk (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
The Regan and Bush foreign policies were identical, just Regan did not have to deal with radical islamic extremism on the same scale as Bush. |
