@leestauf Not at all. It was Thomas Jefferson himself who described one of the main functions of the Constitution was to build a "wall of separation between church and state". He wrote that in his famous letter to - you guessed it - a group of Baptists (who still have a lot of trouble understanding these things). And the Bible - at least the original Hebrew Bible - permits those not of the faith to still reach Heaven provided they follow certain ethical principles (Noahide Laws).

@dewonderkind Once again you are wrong in spirit and fact. The bible permits free choice without which there could be no sin. The first amendment codified that and that spirit is specifically sited in the Declaration of Independence. Have you ever read it? Further there were many different religions already in the colonies when the constitution was written and the main thrust was to ensure no one religion would be preferred over another, not to separate religion from government. Pathetic.

@leestauf The very First Amendment to the Constitution contradicts the First Commandent in the Bible, which holds that there shall be no other God but the God of the Bible. The forefathers were very smart to allow for worship of any other God by Americans, something that no Christian would allow form in a country based on Abrahamic religious principles. There are other major conflicts between the Constitution and the teachings of the Bible.

@dewonderkind Poor attempt at sarcasm, very poor. The Constitution was written using Judeo Christian laws taken directly from those holy books. Anyone with any knowledge of history will acknowledge that. The people who started the American Revolution were the closest thing to today's Tea Party as could be imagined. The democratic party has been infested by those who's beliefs stem more from carl marx, stalin, castro, pol pot and mao. I'd love to spank you in a factual debate on the subject.

@leestauf Yes. Democrats just don't know their history. They don't accept that Jesus Christ wrote the Constitution and that he was a Republican. Democrats seem to think that the Constitution was written by left-wing extremists who actually started a revolution.

No honest, informed, honorable person could ever be a democrat.
