Back in the day, Rockefeller got a chance to speak at his party's convention. In 2008, Ron Paul (a TEN TERM Republican congressman) can't even get on the floor of that same party's convention.Orwell himself would not believe that blind adherence to statism we have come to accept so matter-of-factly...

Oh, fuck you.

Jefferson wrote the Declaration and knew our rights came from God. Madison was the father of the Constitution and knew our rights came from God.I shouldn't have wasted my time with a stupid kid like you."Go from the presence of a foolish man, when thou perceivest not in him the lips of knowledge."In other words, don't waste time arguing with an idiot. Good night, kid. Learn about our history and you might win a fight. I'm done. Don't waste my time anymore.

Habeas corpus hasn't been suspended idiot, and even then it's still in the Constitution's suspension clause. It's legal. Ugh, dumb kid.

Oh i agree with the principles of John Locke, and the founders, and the framers, i just dont agree with the religious aspect of it, or that rights come from God. Everything else i agree with. Yet notice that the party that is most consistent with the principles of classical liberalism is the libertarian party, not the anti-habeas corpus, anti-personal liberty republican party.

The individual states had established religions and churches. Bibles were the first text books for schools. Sunday schools were also used for schools. The Founders were not socially ill in the head like you. They believed that man had to live by the laws of God and not by the laws of the jungle. It fits in to the idea that our rights are holy and must be defended at all costs. It's why the Founders believed in morality of heart and moral order from civic virtue.
TheCobaltAgent (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
Wow. Forget it. Even John Locke, who also believed in rights from classical reason, based almost all of his beliefs around his Christian faith. Figures. The Founders, Framers, even the men they were influenced by like Locke, Hobbes, and Montesquieu all understood that rights are God-given. Thomas Jefferson, a Deist, when questioned on where our rights come from, had only one answer and that answer was God- the creator. Nothing in America was ever secular until recently thanks to libs.
greenfury87 (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
Well, i dont believe in God. I think rights come from reason, that rights are moral requirements for the proper existence of individuals in society. What exactly then do you mean by moral order?
TheCobaltAgent (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
It has nothing to do with religion sects. Jefferson and Franklin were both Deists and even they understood that America's greatness had to be preserved by preserving Judeo-Christian values. Only an idiotic, secular, Libertarian nut would confuse moral order with some quasi-fascist policy of a police state. Liberty comes from God, kid, not the Constitution. Again, your lack of understanding of history and our Founders and Framers is astounding. Get off the internet and jump off a cliff. Moron.
greenfury87 (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
Well, what do you mean by moral order? Im not religious, i dont believe in God. Is the government supposed to make me believe or something? Is the thought police going to come and get me? Thats the most retarted thing i've ever heard and if you believe anything close to that you're one dumb fucker. "It does me no injury if my neighbor believes in twenty Gods or no God. It neither picks my pocket or breaks my leg." - Thomas Jefferson |
