Olberman, who has the least watched show on cable news, has to be THE most pathetic excuse for an anchor (or whatever he is supposed to be) ever seen on TV. This guy makes a living trashing anyone who is not a liberal democrat. I'm sure there are some who wring their hands together and foam at the mouth watching this idiot, but to even fantasize that he comes close to debating anyone who is a Republican is pure dribble. Where is this fool when the real heavyweights come to town?

oh god...i hate what the republicans have become as a former repub for decades... please shut your mouths for ATLEAST a year we are in a crisis that is going to take more than 7 months for president Obama to get us out of after 8 years of thinking that the rich are just going to create more jobs and not spend their profits on 3 new homes and 4 new boats and gifts for their wives... I voted PROGRESSIVE/COMMON SENSE- Obama.

obama the new black jfk? jfk sucked as president, so true. jfk was born in this country, false. jfk was killed during his presidency, hopefully not. i'd like to see obama dead, but after he fails and only serves one term.

0_o no, the ideology has changed tremendously. May I remind you, the Republicans stemmed from the Whigs and some Democrats, so this meant there were tremendous differences between what ideology the GOP should take.It faced some fiscal liberalism, true, but they also had progressive tendencies, ex: Eisenhower's Social Security.Modern day GOP occured when Lyndon Johnson took control. The Democratic south changed to the republican party in protest, and, here we are, the GOP is a social con.

you really do not know your history. the dems have done nothing for the black americans in the 19th century besides put them down and keep them undercontrol. if you rknow your history and you dont, it was wilson who screwed the american blacks all the way up to jfk. are youi going to tell me mlk was a democrat??? lol the ideology is the same reduce go, lower taxes, and cut spending.

Don't compare the ol' Repubs. to today's neo-cons. Glock is right that it was the Repubs. who wanted to free the slaves. However, the Republican agenda of the 1850's was progressive and the Democrats were the ones who wanted strict adherence to the Constitution and a smaller federal government. In other words, the parties have switched roles in recent years. Forget about the party name, consider the ideologies & attitudes.
