@hiyukenmusic unfortunately the value of our goods (cars, building, bridges) constantly increase. gold is a limited asset. you would not be able to use gold forever to valuate your assets.

gold is not money. gold is like any other goods, its value fluctuates. money values always fluctuates against other currencies. gold is the same price all over the world, therefore gold is not money. Bernanke was right when he said gold is not money.

@shatfick No it hasn't you ass. Gold is a limited commodity and its discovery doesn't keep pace with population growth. It's value is simply of function of its exchangability. If I was in a room full of rednecks and convinced them that my elvis presley collector's plate had value, then that would function as gold too. If you find people who don't understand what the monetary unit called money actually is they will be dooped over and over but that process doesn't imply legitimacy for the process.
