- Yes, your fellow tax payers foot the bill but what kind of care are you getting? A lot of Brits & Europeans are paying for their surgeries here in the US rather than getting them under the NHS system. People are dying all over Britain on waiting lists for surgeries, transplants, cancer treatments. Nobody gets money from a HC company when they die. That's life insurance. Nor is any denied HC coverage. That's illegal. HCs can only limit the amount of coverage.

Wow, this was a year ago. I barely remember this discussion.Invasive surgery, brain disease, cancer treatments, neurosurgery, are expensive. In my country the government foots the bill regardless of how much tax I've paid. I know as a Brit that if I get cancer, a brain tumour, hit by a bus, I'm not going to need to remortgage my house to pay for it. In the US, HCs have a financial incentive to deny sick people their insurance money until they die.

Where did you get that idea. They lose a paying customer therefore lost revenue.Local municipalities are not socialist systems. They are paid for with local taxes and union dues.
