Hillary 'Truth' Has Dems Spooked
Here it comes! Today is the day that the much hyped book "The Truth about Hillary" hits bookstores. Here's the latest from Newsmax.
While even Clinton critics are warning that Ed Klein's book "The Truth About Hillary" may backfire by reinvigorating Mrs. Clinton's image as a victim, privately some Democrats say they're aren't so sure.
Anticipating today's "Truth" release, Eric Hauser, a Democratic activist who was press secretary to former Sen. Bill Bradley during the 2000 presidential primaries, said he fears the book could hurt her political viability.
"There are widespread and legitimate concerns about her ability to win an election," he told Knight Ridder.
One-time Hillary advisor Dick Morris warned last week that he thought that Klein's unsubstantiated allegation about Chelsea's conception would backfire actually help Hillary. But in his New York Post column today Morris notes that new charges about Bill Clinton's ongoing infidelity threaten to compromise the new image of their "rehabilitated" marriage.
"The Ed Klein book with its revelations of Billâ¿”s current philandering puts Hillary in a tough spot," the top political consultant says. "If she pretends not to notice, she looks like a fool at best and a conniving politician who values power more than having a good marriage at worst."
Morris makes a good point about Bill Clinton's philandering. There are many Democratic voters out there who are upset with Hillary for putting up with what Bill has done. It makes her look weak and her marriage a joke.
