Ron Paul Revolution?

1

For the past several months there has been much talk on the internet about revolution. "Ron Paul Revolution" is the dominant mantra for Dr. Pauls supporters and in their minds, they are having a revolution. The word "revolution" excites us and motivates us to action but at this point I am not so sure we are really having a revolution.

There are an appreciable number of republicans and democrats that are engaged in an organized rebellion as a result of their anger. Many of the angered voters are becoming Ron Paul supporters. The weapon of choice in this new Glorious Cause is not the bayonet. It is the dollar.

Mr. Giuliani should be up to speed by now on the "blow-back theory" thanks to some Ron Paul support groups. Next, Mr. Giuliani should take notice of "domestic blow-back" as it also exists. The proof of domestic blow-back can be found at ronpaul2008.com. The evidence to the fact is the $10.6 million dollars in Ron Pauls campaign coffers as of December 4th. Revolution or not, the candidates of both political parties are aware of the rising tide of anger coming from the voters. My guess, is that they are also aware that millions of those "angry voter dollars" are flowing into Dr. Pauls campaign like a money river.

As I see it, a "revolution" is when citizens unite to change their system of government along with the practitioners of the system i.e. the politicians. When I ponder the word "revolution" I picture a violent bloody struggle like the one in France at the turn of the 19th century.

The revolutionary spirit that is now spreading like small brush-fires across the country is creating a "real" movement similar to those in the 60s in the struggle for civil rights and of course the anti-Viet Nam war protest. But do the Ron Paul supporters really want a revolution? I think not.

First of all, voters have the right to over-throw their elected representatives every four years. Since the turbulant 70s amidst the Watergate scandel and the Church hearings, the politicians have been getting re-elected over 90% of the time. I would suggest that the biggest obstacle the Paul supporters face is voter ignorance and apathy. It may even be true that some Americans have come to enjoy a little socialism with their hot dog, NASCAR and apple pie.

The Ron Paul supporters do not want to throw off their system of government. Rather, The Paulites want to re-establish the original principles laid out by our founders and as prescribed by the Constitution and other essays on republicanism. I would suggest that the Ron Paul movement is not one of revolution but is in fact a renaissance.

The working defination of renaissance is a re-birth or reawakening. The word renaissance does not stir our passions or create a buzz like the word revolution. Using the correct term to describe the growing movement for a return to the principles outlined in our constitution may be just a matter of semantics.

In the meantime, I will continue to display my Ron Paul Revolution bumper-sticker and my Ron Paul yard sign, while conjuring up images of politicians hanging from their neck-ties on the steps of the Capitol. Lets face it, a revolution sounds like a helluva lot more fun than a renaissance and you know the music sound-track would be better.

The movement in America today for a revival of republicanism is strong, the climate is agreeable, and the soil is fertile. The movement will go on long after the 2008 elections have come and gone. Revolution or Renaissance? History will judge. As for this writer, I am locked and loaded for December 16th. Ready…to fire my first shot of the 2nd American Revolution. Godspeed. www.cafepress.com/ronpaul08gear

In case you don't already know about Ron Paul,is that his campaign website is linked to the same website for the liberal lying movie "Zeitgeist" produced by Peter Joseph where it questions the truth of Christianity, and claims a conspiricy in the attacks in the World Trade Center on 9/11. This guy is running for the wrong party as a liberal republican. Does he really belive we are moving towards a one government world where we all have RFI chips implanted under our skin so the government can track our every move? This guy can't be for real.
