Long Live the Queen…and Her Ipod
Barack Obama does yet another stunt when he decides to visit the England Queen and give her an IPod as a…sign of appreciation. We all know that Obama is a self-conscious man that doesn’t care about conservatory opinions and wants to be as unconventional as possible, because this is what won him the elections, but giving an ipod during an official meeting with the Queen seemed like a totally inappropriate gesture for American press writers. The materials on the ipod were nice though, containing also some footage of her visiting the USA two years ago.
American officials say that the president also includes an audio book by Richard Rodgers in his gift. Clearly, he tried to make everything pretty rare and special, and in return he and his wife got a big framed and signed picture of Elisabeth and Philip. This is, in fact, the usual gift the queen give out when she receives visits.
Because the American president really tried hard to provide a special and priceless gift to the Queen, and he got in return just a simple photo, he must’ve felt pretty bad. Still, he remained happy-looking and no one suspected anything about the uncomfortable situation.
If we read the American press released after this incident, we will find out that the president was involved in another uncomfortable situation related to gifts and Great Britain. He gave a present to the Brown, the Prime Minister of Britain. This present was a collection of rare and classic movies of all times, on DVD. And a few days after the gift was presented, people started realizing that the movies did not work on UK players, since they were using USA streaming format. It seems that he has a true problem with getting the right gifts for fellow Englishmen, and we can only hope he included essential ipod tools in his gift for the Queen.
Even if Barack seems so unconventional and the Queen is the most conservatory person on Earth, it seems that the two were really getting along during the meeting. And British sources reveal interesting news which lets us know that the Queen already had an Ipod, given to her years ago, with classic songs on it. So, after all, the Queen of England isn’t such an un-introduced to technology person, and she actually enjoys finding out once in a while about new releases and such things.
