http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GkQvXYasmGY

Obama says don't blow money in Las Vegas

Yesterday I wrote about Sarah Palin getting all bent out of shape over nothing. Now a whole state is doing the exact same thing. It's so childish I just had to roll my eyes. People are just really fishing for reasons to be mad at the president. Really, y'all, it's not cute anymore. It's infuriating.

So while delivering a speech in New Hampshire a couple weeks ago, Obama said "You don’t blow a bunch of cash in Vegas when you’re trying to save in college." this exact statement is the root of all the hard feelings among the Nevadans. The New York Times reports that today they are feeling better, a little, because Obama said he was happy to hear that some dude was spending money in Las Vegas.

Brace yourselves, Las Vegas

If residents of Las Vegas didn't like what Obama said about them, they are certainly not going to like what I have to say here. You can come up with more than a 101 awful things to say about Las Vegas. It's a place where payday advances are handed out for gambling purposes. Here's what I think of when I think about Las Vegas: Prostitution. Gambling. Rapid nuptials. What is there really good to say about Las Vegas other than it's an all-out party town? Isn't Las Vegas aware of this already? Why are they getting all upset? Why am I upset over what they're all upset about? Because I am sick and tired of people finding the most ridiculous, minuscule reasons to criticize the president. It's unAmerican!

Things will change with time

Throughout history, the former presidents that are most beloved now were highly disliked during their time. Abraham Lincoln was so hated he was assassinated. It seems the president is always hated by someone. Everyone seemed to hate George W. Bush and now everyone is hating on Obama. However, I still think that 20, 30 years from now people will look back on President Barack Obama with deep respect and admiration.

I am no noble economist winner. But I firmly trust that petrol is going to rise again back to the pre crisis level by early next year. (...)

I am no noble economist winner. But I firmly trust that petrol is going to rise again back to the pre crisis level by early next year.

This economy crisis has taught us many lessons in being prudent in our spending. But did we really learn the lesson? My take is the answer is not. When the economy was good at 2006, everyone spend like there is no tomorrow. We live with credit and trying to clear the debt at month end. We bought SUVs which are petrol consumption monster to begin with. We bought items (which mostly has a base component of oil) and stock them up at home and then forgot about it. We also heat our pool the whole day. Such habit has helped fueled the petrol prices, which indirectly hurt the environment.

Most of us do not understand that our action has indirect impact to the oil prices. The average consumer took a beating and this is make worse when the economy crashes at 2008. When it happened, we started to take stock of what we do not need. We started to cut down on unnecessary car trips and we also stopped buying SUVs ans start turning to small and fuel efficient car. We can also start to embark on low cost diy solar pool heater and try to save energy. Start saving the earth with solar power for homes.

The best thing that happen in this bad economy is the change in our behavior to be more socially responsible.

I just wish that such pattern continue but not in the pretext of the economy crisis. This will always be a wish. The economy is recovering and very quickly we can see that irresponsible behavior is starting to appear again. It look slike most of us never learn from the mistakes. The next cycle of crisis will be worse than this as the world's economy gets more connected.

It is almost impossible to decouple the economy from each other. But surely we can be less reliant on oil. This is more than just the politics, it is a basic change to the way we live. Now, we must all be prepared to pay more for fuel. More about energy saving at Renewable energy sources.

Anyone with an avid eye or ear knows that the media in today's society is extraordinarily biased. You simply cannot get information on TV or in the paper anymore without getting some other person opinion right with it.

This is the unlucky thing about 24 hour stories channels, as they don't report the news the way that it was supposed to be reported. This censorship is probably much more widespread than even the most alert viewers notice, as there is always some kind of political agenda being pushed. Fox news, as an example, is blatantly conservative in its reporting and will stop at zilch to make liberals look bad. This has led to reports stories that make the republican party look bad being completely ignored and similar stories that make the democrats look bad being played on a loop. The precise opposite may be said for CNBC, as this is a biased liberal network that is guilty of similar things.

Newspapers are no better, as these papers belong to individuals and conglomerates, with each of these entities having their own political ideologies. These people have spotted that they can control information in a way that permits them to push their own ideologies onto folks, and is the reason why our country's's current system of info will never work. Unfortunately, many folks take the news as the truth and don't dig any further to find out what's really happening in the world.

The government also extends these misconceptions about the news, as they do not need the general population to know the truth either. They have decided that a population that is in the dark will behave much better than a population that is in the club, so there is a certain quantity of government censorship to be found as well. All this is very unlucky, but it is the way that things have been in this country for a period of years and the truth is getting tougher to come by year after year.

Sound Off To America is a website that wishes to dump this bias in the media by giving people a place to not only have their voices heard, but also to hear the voices of other north Americans. Whether you want a place to vent about American polotics, or hasn't done, in your life, or you simply wish to discuss the present commercial issues that are gripping the country, this is the place to do it. Nothing is off limited at Sound Off To America because any problem that you are having is probably shared by numerous US citizens, whether you know it or not.

By finding as many diverse opinions as possible, Sound Off To America will be able to give its users an accurate picture of what America actually is like. You won't have to wait for the media's deformed views on what's happened, as you can read about the genuine events from real Americans. You pay taxes in this country and, therefore , you should know what is occurring in this country and Sound Off To America will supply that for you with no bias in the slightest from the company.

Now, you'll have to keep an eye out for biased opinions from people who write to Sound Off To America, as any opinion pieces will be intrinsically biased. With that having been said at least you aren't hearing the views of elitist companies who know less than nothing about what it is like to be a median American. The people who will be writing on this site are standard US citizens just like you and while you're visiting, you can even voice your own opinion at Sound Off To America.

This website really wants to change the way that northern Americans read their stories by giving different viewpoints and information that the politically motivated news networks. This is your chance to hear the voices of everyday Americans and to have them hear your voice as well . Sound Off To America is meant to spark pointed debate among informed northern Americans who truly need to exercise their First change right to liberty of speech. Get embroiled with this project and let Americans know precisely what you think of what is happening in the country today.

Obama’s health care plan is ready
The Obama health care plan, in its most recent incarnation, is now available for all to see on the White House web site. (...)

Obama’s health care plan is ready

The Obama health care plan, in its most recent incarnation, is now available for all to see on the White House web site. Of course, it’s a very lengthy document and some parts are a little hard to understand, so I have composed a summary focusing on the parts that have changed since the last health care bill was made public.

The Obama health care plan has parts from the House and Senate versions of the bill, but the White House contends that it is closer to the Senate's. The first part that is on people's minds is how the Obama health care plan will be paid for. No one wants to see more from their paychecks taken by the feds to be used as another cash loan and more national debt.

How to pay for it

The White House site says the bill will make health care more affordable:

The House and Senate health insurance bills lower premiums through increased competition, oversight, and new accountability standards set by insurance exchanges. The bills also provide tax credits and reduced cost sharing for families with modest income. The President’s Proposal improves the affordability of health care by increasing the tax credits for families.

Middle class and low income families can receive tax breaks for paying for health insurance. Here is a table of tax breaks and applicable income levels.

Crackdown

Part of Obama’s health care plan focuses on cracking down on waste, fraud and abuse. The bill creates a comprehensive sanctions database and calls for registration and background checks of billing agencies and individuals. It makes the health care integrity and protection data bank more accessible.

The proposal tendered by the President looks to make sure mental health care is available. It makes real time data review possible and enhances sanctions for fraud of Medicare or Medicaid. Here's a list of crackdown measures.

In the long run

As far as making sure the cost of Obama’s health care plan can continue to be sustainable, the web site says:

President’s Proposal creates a set of benchmark payments at different percentages of the current average fee-for-service costs in an area. It phases these benchmarks in gradually in order to avoid disruption to beneficiaries, taking into account the relative payments to fee-for-service costs in an area.

The plan also will delay and reform the high-cost plan excise tax, broaden Medicare hospital insurance, increase fees on brand-name prescriptions and close tax loopholes to prevent unjustified tax shelters. You can read about more improvements and view a searchable copy of the Obama health care plan at WhiteHouse.gov.

The highly suspicious Pentagon shooting, which has been used as grist for the establishment’s aggressive smear campaign to portray dissent against government as violent extremism, is beginning to bear the hallmarks of almost every other major case we have studied where the authorities have not only had prior knowledge of the plot but have in fact facilitated it from beginning to end.

The revelation that shooter John Patrick Bedell’s parents warned authorities that their son was missing, armed, and dangerous, echoes similar warnings that were given to officials prior to the Christmas Day underwear bomber attack, which is just one indication amongst a plethora that the Delta 253 incident was a false flag set-up.

Just a brief reprisal of the last handful of major terror cases in the United States instantly reminds us that in every single instance the plot was artificially engineered by the federal government and then later seized upon, with the enthusiastic support of the corporate media, as justification for more funding, more power, and more authority to denounce critics of the war on terror and dissent against the state in general

On January 27, the Detroit News reported how the State Department refused to revoke Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab’s visa despite the fact that he was on a terror watch list and allowed him to board the plane, allegedly in order to avoid tipping off a wider investigation.

After weeks of stonewalling, authorities quietly reversed the official story behind the aborted attack and acknowledged that an accomplice was involved, despite weeks of denial and derision of eyewitness Kurt Haskell’s description of a sharp-dressed man who helped Umar Farouk Abdul Mutallab board Flight 253 in Amsterdam.

Detroit lawyer Kurt Haskell maintained from the beginning that he saw a well-dressed Indian man aid the accused bomber to board the plane despite the fact that he had no passport and was on a terror watch list.

“While Mutallab was poorly dressed, his friend was dressed in an expensive suit, Haskell said. He says the suited man asked ticket agents whether Mutallab could board without a passport. “The guy said, ‘He’s from Sudan and we do this all the time,’” reported the Michigan Live news website.

FBI agents interviewed Haskell and he told them about the sharp-dressed man but officials refused to admit that a wider conspiracy was at hand, stoically maintaining the official story that Abdulmutallab had acted alone. Authorities claimed that videotapes did not show a second man accompanying Abdulmutallab and yet they refused to release any footage of the alleged bomber.

There seems little doubt that Abdulmutallab had at least one accomplice if not more. Authorities have remained silent on other eyewitness reports which described a man intently filming the alleged terrorist throughout the whole flight, a connection that strongly suggests the attempted bomber was involved in some kind of drill and that his strings were being pulled by people in more senior positions.

The Delta 253 incident was just one of the dozens of terror busts and stings since 9/11 to have been orchestrated by handlers aiding the accused terrorists at every turn. We have never come across a major case where the terrorists involved in a plot were not being prodded by the FBI and federal informants, or where clear prior knowledge and forewarning was not evident.

Take the case of Fort Hood shooter Army Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan, who repeatedly communicated with alleged Al-Qaeda leaders for nearly a year before his rampage. The FBI knew Hasan was sending emails to terrorists, but they did nothing, allowed him to remain on a U.S. Army base, and even invited him to participate in Homeland Security exercises.

Hasan, “Sent 10 to 20 e-mails to several terror-related Islamic figures, including Anwar Aulaqi, a radical imam from Virginia who has been openly propagandizing for al Qaeda in Yemen and who had ties to several of the 9/11 hijackers,” reported the New York Post.

As Webster Tarpley reported, Aulaqi is “an intelligence agency operative and patsy-minder” and “one of the premier terror impresarios of the age operating under Islamic fundamentalist cover” whose job it is to “motivate and encourage groups of mentally impaired and suggestible young dupes who were entrapped into “terrorist plots” by busy FBI and Canadian RCMP agents during recent years.”

Tarpley points to Aulaqi’s role in the Toronto and Fort Dix, New Jersey, terror plots, which were both contrived by the feds, as proof of Aulaqi’s usefulness to the authorities in radicalizing terrorist patsies.

Lawyers in a case relating to the much vaunted 2007 terror plot to attack Fort Dix and kill “as many soldiers as possible” concluded that FBI informants were the key figures behind the operation and that the accused, six foreign-born Muslims, were merely bungling patsies.

Similarly, the “Toronto 18″ terrorists turned out to be “a bunch of incompetent guys who were primarily misled by a delusional megalomaniac”. The explosive fertilizer material the terrorist cell apparently planned to use was in fact purchased by an informant working for the RCMP who had radicalized the group.

Hasan’s direct relationship with FBI operative and ace patsy-minder Aulaqi provides strong evidence that the Fort Hood shooter was being watched very carefully long before he went on his tragic rampage.

Hundreds of terror suspects (read: patsies and mental deficients) have been convicted in civilian federal courts, including convicted shoe bomber Richard Reid who attended the Finsbury Park Mosque in North London. The Finsbury imam at the time was Abu Hamza al-Masri who began working with British Security Services in 1997. A large number of the supposed terrorists convicted in American courts were entrapped by the FBI in classic COINTELPRO fashion and did not have links to the CIA-created al-Qaeda. The entrapped were often fuzzy on al-Qaeda or what it represents.

In the media-lauded Miami terror case in 2007, the supposed ringleader Narseal “Prince Marina” Batiste “had heard of Al-Qaeda, but wasn’t sure what it stood for. The FBI instigators made Batiste swear loyalty to al-Qaida; then had him call on his local buddies to form an ‘Islamic army’ in Miami. None had military training. Some could barely read. But Batiste assured the group in the midst of its collective marijuana buzz of greatness ahead,” wrote Saul Landau.

These were the men who comedian John Stewart referred to as “seven dipshits in a warehouse” after Attorney General Alberto Gonzales had ludicrously told the press that the group of semi-retarded gang-bangers had planned to “wage a ground war against America”.

One of the more recent examples was the case of the so-called Muslim terrorists busted in New York, who supposedly wanted to blow up synagogues in the Bronx and shoot down military airplanes flying out of the New York Air National Guard base. The men were provided with fake explosives and inactive missiles by an FBI informant, reported the Christian Science Monitor. Two of the ringleaders of the “deadly” plot which was endlessly hyped by the media turned out to be semi-retarded potheads, exactly as we had predicted would be the case due to the innumerable past cases with the exact same modus operandi.

Does this all mean that John Patrick Bedell’s shooting spree was prompted by the feds? Not necessarily, he could just as easily have been a nutcase who went over the edge. However, the aggressive pre-scripting on behalf of the media that anti-government extremists and 9/11 truthers were intent on violence was so transparent that we were able to predict two days before it happened that a violent attack would take place and that it would be blamed on people with anti-government sentiments, which is precisely what happened.

The federal authorities seem none too concerned about stopping any real terrorists and are instead obsessed with manufacturing patsies, bankrolling, radicalizing and prodding rag-tag groups to attempt attacks so that the massive slush fund that is the “war on terror” can be prolonged, while the corporate media relishes each opportunity to politicize such events to demonize peaceful resistance to big government as “violent extremism”.

With this insidious partnership now colluding to produce a constant supply of Abdul Mutallabs and John Patrick Bedells on an almost monthly basis, we can expect to see many more domestic terror attacks, be they genuine, provocateured, or outright staged, and with each one the calls to crush free speech and censor the right to express dissent on the Internet will build to a crescendo, with little or no investigation on behalf of the mainstream media as to how such attacks came about in the first place, and who was really behind them.

Everyone has presuppositions, a general set of beliefs, a grid through which we perceive everything that happens - a general belief about what is true, and they will live more consistently on the basis of these presuppositions than even they themselves may realize.

Our presuppositions form the basis for our values, and these values determine what we believe and how we live our lives.

An individual is not just the product of the forces around him. He has a mind, an inner world. Then, having thought, a person can bring forth actions into the external world and thus influence it. People are apt to look at the outer theater of action, forgetting the actor who "lives in the mind" and who therefore is the true actor in the external world. The inner thought world determines the outward action.

As we consider a person's actions, it is helpful to have an understanding of their world view. The beliefs a person holds and the actions they take will make more sense when considered within the boundaries of their world view. Their beliefs and actions will generally be consistent with their world view.

The Tea Party movement is now almost completely unrecognizable from what it was a few short years ago. (...)

The Tea Party movement is now almost completely unrecognizable from what it was a few short years ago. It came to prominence in 2008 when the Libertarian Party of Illinois planned to hold an April 15, 2009 anti-tax “Boston Tea Party” in Chicago. In February 2009, the idea grew after CNBC personality Rick Santelli, speaking from the floor of the Chicago stock exchange, criticized the Obama administration’s tax and economic policies and urged Americans become Tea Party activists.

In fact, the idea began as the Boston Tea Party in 2006. It was founded by a group of former Libertarian Party members who criticized the party for its “abdication of political responsibilities,” declaring that “Americans deserve and desperately need a pro-freedom party that forcefully advocates libertarian solutions to the issues of today.” The Boston Tea Party opposed statism at all levels. “The Boston Tea Party supports reducing the size scope and power of government at all levels and on all issues, and opposes increasing the size, scope and power of government at any level, for any purpose.”

How things have changed.

It didn’t take long for establishment Republicans to steal the idea and claim it as their own. A few weeks after Rick Santelli made his comments, Ron Paul’s media coordinator Steve Gordon went on MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow show and complained about what he characterized as an attempt by Republicans to hijack the idea. Gordon specifically blamed former Republican House Speaker Newt Gingrich and Arkansas governor Mike Huckabee.

It didn’t take long for Republicans to embrace the idea. RNC Chairman Michael Steele, Sarah Palin, and Rep. Michele Bachmann from Minnesota have suggested the Tea Party should be rolled into the Republican Borg hive.

Now there will be a national Tea Party convention in Nashville. It will be a parade of Republican statists with former Alaskan governor Sarah Palin leading the charge. “I look forward to meeting many Americans who share a commitment to limited government, common sense and personal responsibility. This movement is truly a grassroots, organic effort. It’s not a top-down organization,” Palin wrote for USA Today, “it’s a ground-up call to action that already has both political parties rethinking the way they do business.”

Ground-up? Tea Party candidates for the 2010 mid-term elections “will be expected to support the Republican National Committee platform,” according to Fox News. “If a particular candidate meets the proposed Tea Party criteria he or she would be eligible for fundraising and grassroots Tea Party support.”

“Once elected to office, members would be required to join a Congressional Tea Party Caucus, attend regular meetings and be held accountable for the votes they cast. Those who stray from the Tea Party path would risk losing it’s support and a likely re-election challenge.”

In other words, business as usual. Under the rule of George W. Bush and the Republicans, “inflation-adjusted spending on the combined budgets of the 101 largest programs they vowed to eliminate in 1995 has grown by 27 percent, according to the libertarian Cato Institute. Eight years of a Republican president, six with a Republican-controlled Congress, resulted in bigger government, the biggest expansion of entitlements in 40 years and a $700 billion bailout of Wall Street that continues to grow,” writes Donny Ferguson of the Libertarian National Committee.

Bush and the Republicans also invaded two sovereign nations and killed more than a million Iraqis. Democrats by and large supported these war crimes. They also overwhelmingly supported the Republicans when they attacked the Constitution and the Bill of Rights (the so-called Patriot Act being only the most egregious example).

If the co-opted Tea Party embraces the Republican National Committee platform, it will finalize its mutation from a grassroots libertarian organization into an establishment statist tool pushing a national debt for the banksters, bloated government, taxation, perpetual war, and continued attacks on the Constitution and the Bill of Rights.

It should be obvious by now that the Republicans plan to run Sarah Palin against Obama in 2012. This will be a disaster for the Republicans because many Americans are not fooled by her sudden Tea Party plumage. Republicans are desperate to regain control of the White House and Congress and give us four or eight more years of Bush and his warmongering statist neocons. It is a shabby and absurdly transparent gimmick.

Real Tea Party activists and supporters need to reject Palin, Huckabee, Gingrich, and the Republicans out of hand. They should be vocal about their rejection. Otherwise we will end up with another ideologue and teleprompter reading cigar store Indian for the ruling elite.

A meeting between Dr. Watson and Mr. Sherlock Holmes, Esquire.

Watson: (Gazing past his open newspaper, talking to Holmes) Who is behind this 12-21-2012 End of the World craze? And Why? Why have they begun hyping three years out? How did they get so well-orchestrated? It is obviously someone with a lot of money and a grandiose agenda. They are doing a masterful job of swaying the masses into fearing December 21, 2012. Now who do you suppose it could be? (pretend that we have some suspenseful music playing in the background, almost ominous). We need your help now more than ever, Mr. Holmes.

Sherlock: (busy with some scientific experiment) Let's go through the usual list of suspects, try to think of all the possible motives, and see if we can't come up with a few possibilities.

It's always struck me that in a country so incredibly wealthy as ours, everybody could and should be covered by decent health care. I believe it is our right, not a privilege. Why not just expand Medicare to cover us all? It will never happen, but something has to change. Medicare is the gigantic white elephant in the room because if things progress the way they are, every dollar of government money will eventually go toward caring for us, the aging Baby Boomers. The rate of Alzheimer's Disease alone is skyrocketing and doubling every 15 years or so.

Health care for one and all would surely save a fantastic sum of money in the long run. The scores of millions without insurance often wait until they are in dire straits, then go to the only health care provider left to them: the emergency departments of hospitals all around our once great land. That is, by far, the very most expensive health care known to mankind. If these folks were covered, they would tend to get care earlier on in their disease cycle and have a much better chance of recovery at far greater savings than is now possible for them. Also, they might be more inclined to seek preventative care, again at much greater savings.

The carbon offset industry is their best play. The plan is to charge individuals, companies, and governments for the carbon they use. A portion of this money will go to plant trees and other cool green projects. It will also make rich people feel better about their private jets. If the United Nations passes a climate change treaty and congress passes Cap and Trade, can you imagine the money GIM will ultimately make? I think GIM is short for "GIMme the money!"

It appears that GIM gets a free pass from government investigations and the media. I can't find where there has been any scrutiny. There needs to be some before I sign up to be a disciple of Al Gore. His rock star status, world tours, and rich lifestyle makes his message hard for me to swallow. Before I let him take my money and tell me how to live he needs to show some leadership. Jesus and Gandhi made it a point to live simple lives as they preached their message.

There's always the agrument that government will only botch things up. Well, what about Medicare and Social Security? Those have seemed to be pretty successful programs, to put it mildly. I am reminded of a placard my father saw at one of the Tea Party rallies on TV that said: "Get government out of Medicare!" Well, if it weren't for the government, we wouldn't even have Medicare! This kind of ignorance by those who would benefit most is simply mind-boggling. But, the fear mongers out there, the talking heads who want to scare you out of what would be in your best interests by using the "S" word, Socialism, are only looking to line their own pockets and those of their constituents who contribute so heavily to politicians' campaigns.

I wonder what it's going to take to really make a difference in health care reform? Just stay healthy?! Maybe we could get vouchers for fruits and vegetables and a tax break if we quit smoking and drinking.

With the economy in shambles and many losing their jobs, their retirement savings (what numbskulls thought 401k's were a good idea so they could go belly up thanks to unregulated derivatives trading based on fraudulent and toxic subprime mortgages?), their homes, and their overall sense of pride and security, it's no wonder that there's a prevailing mood of despair and hopelessness. The American people deserve a break, but it doesn't appear they'll be getting one in the foreseeable future. There ain't no "public" in this health care option
